About the Organisation

Janta Express Welfare Foundation (JEWF) is a non-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of women and children through sustained community-based interventions. The organisation works with the belief that social justice, dignity, and equal opportunity are fundamental rights, not privileges.

JEWF focuses on addressing long-standing social challenges that affect women, girls, and vulnerable communities. Through consistent engagement at the grassroots level, the foundation strives to create safe, informed, and empowered communities where women and children can live without fear and with self-respect.

Background & Foundation

Janta Express Welfare Foundation formally began its work on 16 October 2021, following a collective decision to undertake structured social work aimed at addressing women- and child-centric issues. From the beginning, the organisation focused on direct community engagement rather than short-term or symbolic interventions.

Over time, the scale and nature of work expanded, creating the need for formal institutional systems. To ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with legal and administrative requirements, Janta Express Welfare Foundation completed its formal registration process on 14 May 2024. This step strengthened the organisation’s capacity to manage resources responsibly and work in coordination with institutions and stakeholders.

Why the Organisation Exists

Despite legal safeguards and social awareness efforts, many women and girls in India continue to face serious challenges such as child marriage, domestic violence, dowry-related abuse, lack of education, and limited access to livelihood opportunities. These issues often lead to long-term social and economic exclusion.

Janta Express Welfare Foundation exists to respond to these realities with empathy, responsibility, and sustained action. The organisation works to support individuals at different stages of life—from childhood through adulthood—by addressing the social, educational, economic, and legal barriers that prevent women and children from realising their full potential.

Areas of Engagement (Overview)

Janta Express Welfare Foundation works across multiple interconnected areas to ensure holistic support for women and children. These include prevention of child marriage, promotion of girls’ education, skill development and livelihood support for women, assistance to survivors of domestic violence and dowry harassment, and community awareness on social justice and climate responsibility. Each area of engagement is approached with sensitivity to local contexts and with a focus on long-term impact rather than short-term outcomes.

Organisational Values & Principles

The work of Janta Express Welfare Foundation is guided by core values of integrity, compassion, inclusiveness, and accountability. The organisation prioritises ethical conduct, respect for human dignity, and transparency in all its initiatives.

JEWF believes in participatory approaches that involve communities as active stakeholders rather than passive beneficiaries. Listening, learning, and collaboration form the foundation of its work philosophy.
